Has anyone tried The Paradigm Diet?

asked about 1 year ago | Report

I'm looking into a good book/info on nutrition for runners for weight loss. I have lost 50 pounds, of which came off rather easy, but I am finding that I am having a very hard time getting this last 20 pounds off while still being nourished enough for my higher mileage of running now. It's very frustrating to have this muscle with a layer of fat over it still.....any help/advice would be appreciated!!

  • I'd stay away from any diet that has a 'name' associated with it. Diet should never be used as a verb- only a noun. My wife is tracking her calories taken and burned using 'myfitnesspal.com' she seems to like it.

  • I agree with Morey! Diet should be a noun, not a verb. I also track my food intake on myfitnesspal.com. It's not a diet, it's about changing to a healthy lifestyle. Fill yourself up with lots of fruits & veggies, lean protein and whole grain. Stay away from the processed junk. It's about calories in/calories out but I have found that the cleaner I eat, the better I feel (and look). :)

  • I have lost about 70 pounds in the last year... I did this by eating healthy (watching what I eat) and running. I agree with Morey and Marissa it is not about a diet it is about watching my calorie intake and outtake. I would love to lose a couple of more pounds but I have noticed that my clothes are fitting differently (in a good way) but my scale is not moving!!!

  • You may want to check out the book(s) by Matt Fitzgerald called "Racing Weight." He goes into detail about how you can go about losing the right amount of weight to train your best. No fad diets, just sound nutritional principals, clean eating, targeted exercise for endurance athletes. He has the full book, then a "Quick Start" book which is condensed and direct.
