Friendless in Maine

posted 11 months ago | Report

Hi!

I am new to the daily mile and desperately need ok want friends here. Who doesn't want to feel wanted right? I have been running now for 18 months and 9 of those I was pregnant with my now 6 month old son. I have a before I turn 30 goal to run a half and I signed myself up for a September one. Now I'm just sloooowly picking away at putting down some miles. I'm up to 13 miles a week now. I just need some motivation and help so please be my friend and help me prove I can do this!

  • Hi, Christina. I'm a New Hampshire "neighbor." I started running two summers ago and have my first half coming up in two weeks in Portland. Welcome to Daily Mile. There are lots of friends to be found here.

  • HI Christina! I was born and raised in Maine! But now I live in TX. I just started running in the new year. I may or may not do a half in October...haven't decided yet. The furthest I've run so far is 7 miles, so 13 seems a big leap from that, but it's a ways off so I might start following a training plan and see what happens!

  • Hello NH neighbor! Good Luck with your first half! Jess Maine to TX a big difference! Where in ME are you from? And yes if you can go 7 now then 13 in October is doable! Or at least I am really hoping so because I am up to 7 now and have my half in Sept!

  • Welcome Christina...I'm a new runner too..only since February. This was the year I turned 50 and really wanted to prove to myself that age is just a number. I have run 3 5'ks this year and am scheduled for my first 10k in September. My long term goal is to run a 1/2 next year. Welcome to DM; FR sent

  • Hi all! Funny Debbie I turn 30 and that was my deciding factor in running my half this fall. Proof that I can do it! Great job on the 5ks!
