i get the same error!! I even wiped out (Reset my garmin) and still no data. Garmin Connect data uploads, and it uploads/imports to SportsTrack without a problem? So I am bummed it doesn't work with dailymile.

I have the same thing, only mine worked for a minute. The first time it loaded up a bunch of old activities, ones I had already entered in DM manually. So, I deleted those, uploaded my newest activity to Garmin Connect, and tried to sync again with DM. This time, I'm getting the "No new activities" message, despite the fact I know I just uploaded a new file.

wait, how are you guys even getting the option to try and upload to Dailymile? I still see "coming soon" on the sync page for Garmin.

This feature is still in beta. We're working hard to get out all the bugs. It should be all fixed very soon. Thanks!

We just pushed a bunch of fixes for the Garmin sync today. Please try again and let me know if it works this time.

Leslie,
You have to go into Settings/Devices to enter your Garmin Connect username and password. After you do that, you should see a sync button in the sync tab of the workout entry.
I was as frustrated as you until someone showed me. Pass it on.

Just to add experience, what Jeff B says worked perfectly for me. I'm so happy now, it's the one thing that was a giant gaping hole in DM. It's terrific that it's filled now, and I just uploaded 38 old workouts in one shot.

Can I get in on this beta trial of Garmin Connect integration?

Dallas, look two posts up at what Jeff B. said. It worked partially for me. I got an "Oops, we're sorry, but something went wrong!" message and only a handful of my runs showed up. This will be great once the bugs are worked out.
I'd like an option to not show my routes though. As it is, you can only set it to share the route with everyone or with friends. No option to not share the route. My secretive/private/paranoid side needs the third option. Is there any plan to add this?answered almost 2 years ago |Report

I don't get it. And I know it's easy to point fingers when it's not you doing the work, but Buckeye Outdoors can get a Garmin to upload via a SportTracks plug in is that not the easier path to follow.
Additionally from what I have seen there is no option to privatize your runs/rides etc, I for one do not want anyone knowing where my front door is, this option is available in Garmin Connect

Andy, I'm not really sure what you are saying. I saw Ben said he uploaded bug fixes to a Garmin connect sync that I dont have access to that I would love to give a try/test and give feedback for. Sounds like a number of peeps in this thread do have that access :)

I got the sync to work but is there an option to hide the routes?

Yesterday mine didn't sync up but today it worked perfect. I think that they made some fixes.

Hmm, Mine got to 100% fairly quickly, but it's still syncing. Is it supposed to take a REALLY long time the first time you do it or something? I've probably got about a year's worth of Garmin records in my connect account.

Dallas...
Go to the top right of this page and click on "settings".
Then go to the left sidebar thing on the new page that clicking "settings" sent you to. Click on "Devices". There you should find one box for Nike+ and one for Garmin. Fill in your Garmin username and password and I think you're good to go.
That's how it worked for me anyway.
Good luck.answered almost 2 years ago |Report

I am having the same sync issue, it just keeps syncing forever. Also did someone say a sport tracks plug in, I would take that too... but have never seen it (and I have been looking for it).

@Stuart SportTracks is only available on the PC. We have someone working on a plugin for SportTracks and it should be available very soon.

Thanks Andy, I never would have found that. I kept looking at the options under "Post Workout" and Nike was the only thing available. I guess they will add the "Add Account" button for it when it gets through beta

so sad :( Last night I thought maybe it was because I didn't have any "new" workouts, so I did my run this morning came home to my daily ritual of uploading to Garmin Connect, Training Center and sport tracks. I tried to do the sync, it gets to 50 and then hangs there with the sync thing spinning away. Am I missing something?

Sync worked the first time, but just got home from a ride and it's not picking up the latest workout.

Sync worked for me.
However I think you need to fundamentally change how you would use the data.
Normally with routes input by hand people would keep reusing the same route. However with a Garmin Sync you always have a new route every time. You wouldn't likely reuse the route unless you forgot your watch. If you allow for including the split data at some point this also wouldn't jive with reusing routes. The number of routes would get very large over time unless you keep deleting them.
Using Garmin Sync I would recommend automatically attaching the map to a run but not adding it to your default list of routes. You could still allow for the user to create a route from one of these maps and giving it a name from editing the run. I know its in beta but just wanted to give some feedback. Thanks for putting together such a good site!

me too Devin, I keep optimistically trying in hopes it will magically work. I only get the eternal sync spin and the occasional script error.

Got it to work only 2x while in beta and now every time it just says no new workouts. :( Dunno why.

I've still had no luck :-( After clicking on 'sync device' the status bar will go to 100%, but under garmin account it just says "syncing..." and the icon spins. It's been a good 15+ minutes so far...

I keep getting the following error: Your device doesn't support TCX. Try upgrading your plugin.
I've installed/upgraded the plugin several times. The test website shows I'm working with the most recent version. Any suggestions? I get the same error using Google Chrome and IE.

The updates since my post on Sunday ended up working very well. They made changes that addressed the concerns I had about routes and it works pretty well for me today. Just need to round the mileage a little better as it imported my 8 mile run as 7.9995 instead of like 8.00

I get same issue today. First it found the old runs, (which I chose to delete) but it couldn't and can't find todays bike ride. After completing the sync bar to 100%, it goes 'No new activities found on the device.'

For anyone having problems with sync, please email the issues to contact [at] dailymile.com and let us know which Garmin device you use and which browser you're syncing in. We'll follow up from there. Thanks!

I'm using a Garmin 405CX. Trying to sync using Firefox version 3.6.2. I keep getting the "Your device doesn't support TCX. Try upgrading your plugin." message, but I'm current on the plugin and everything else.
(Sorry; just saw you want these e-mailed, which I've just done.)
