I don't think stretching will help. I know that you have custom-fit shoes, but that still could be the source of the problem. I found this website interesting:

I get it too when I run long distances. I either adjust the shoe laces over the injury or I have switched to elastic laces which don't put so much constant pressure on the top of my foot.
Elastic laces also are permanently tied so you can slip your shoe on and off without having to tie and retie. Triathletes use them for quick transitions.answered 6 months ago |Report
