Switch to metal cages that are bendable and bend them tight. For example, the Bontrager Sideswipe. I have the X-lab X-wing too and the bendable cage has completely solved the problem.

I like the bontrager aluminum(?) cages. Fold them down to make them as tight as you'd like...I've never had a problem!

Just moved my regular aluminum cages to my rear setup. nice and tight like Jen and Sean suggest. much happier.

That is a good question. I was riding in a triathlon, and had my cage on my handlebar (a last minute fix). Turned a corner and there was a railroad crossing - didn't have time to hold the bottle and it flew out - like a bottle rocket. I stopped to quickly run back and get it and saw a whole bunch of water bottles, about 10 or 15. What a bunch of litter bugs! Wait a minute..on second thought..apparently there were a lot of loose bottles out there. So I had the metal cage - and got a bottle that fit better.
