I am racing in my first Ironman competition on Laura Roman's behalf on November 27. Laura has been diagnosed with brain & spinal cancer. She has a husband and a five year old son and has been going through treatment at the University of Chicago Neuro-Oncology unit. Please contribute to research at U of C on her behalf by clicking on the link below. An Ironman competition involves a 2.4 mile swim, an 112 mile bike ride, and a 26.2 mile run. You may choose to make a set contribution or sponsonship based on the distance I complete, for example, a dollar per mile (total distance 140.6 miles). I intend to complete this race in 15-16 hours and have previously competed in 3-1/2 Ironman competitions.
