Hi Mike,
I'll offer my 2 cents, not having done a triathlon ever myself, but having experience with swimming and running. The exercises listed on your link are good movements to do.
Triathlon strengh routines must involve total body workouts, and to be efficient about it, compound movements will maximize your gains. I would head over to www.beginnertriathlete.com to look for better info.
Good luck,

This is my post about what I did to gain strength and muscle for tri's. I was honestly shocked with the result. The book I got it from had a nickname of "hacking the human body" and I definitely understand why.

Joe Friel has a pretty good one in a triathletes training bible. Whatever plan you go with, keep in mind you stand to make the most gains doing hip extension stuff to improve bike strength. Core work is pretty key for each of the sports too.

Mike- You can add strength training 2 or 3x a week but I find that I don't have time during tri season. Check out Joe Friel's The Triathlete's Training Bible for a great routine.
Good Luck on your HIM!
