What is your running anthem?

If I need a boost, I turn on "Loose Yourself" by Eminem.

  • I have a variety of songs that make something of an anthem for my workouts:
On Top of the World - Imagine Dragons
Good Times - Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen
Haven't Met You Yet - Michael Bublé

But there's a whole range of other music... but those three represent the themes that form an anthem for my life. However, I should note that the Michael Bublé song might imply that I have found the "one" yet... However, I have,,, but I still like the song.

  • Great thread!

Lose yourself has always been one of my faves, too. And nice choice with BOB, Mr. Ralph! I love to run to Black Eyed Peas too; basically anything that gets me bopping my head. And actually anything that I would sing along in the car to - I like to judge my breathing based on whether or not I can still sing! lol

The other morning as I was finishing my first 5K, f**k you by CeeLo came on - perfect ending to the run!

I downloaded On Top of the World, Bo!

  • I'm a bit of a 70's cast-off, so my goto/or anthem seems to always come back to:

    Against The Wind
Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band.

Although in high school whenever I hit the 2.5k mark in a race Bon Jovi's Livin' On a Prayer would play in my head...

  • Completely random, but movie theme songs and/or classical. The Dark Knight Rises has some awesome tracks. It gets me out of the 'ouch, ouch, ouch' mindset and forces me to daydream. Before I know it I've outrun the pain :)

  • Once I was doing a 5k in Tampa, the sun was beating down on me and I was really tired after partying the night before. I was walking and watching everyone pass me by, then The Jacksons "Can You Feel It" followed by Outkast "BOB" came on, I was so pumped I sprinted to the finish line.

    Honorable Mentions

    Rick Ross "Push It"
Guns N Roses "Welcome to the Jungle"
    Michael Jackson "Bad"
    Trick Daddy/Lil Jon "Lets Go"
