Hey! I just joined too and am looking for the same thing :) I'm not training for anything specific, rather i just want to get in shape and love my body! That is my motivation! Today was my first day of doing the Couch to 5K running program. I'm going to do my best to stick with it and see where it takes me! Good luck with your training!

Thanks for the comment! I added you as a friend if you dont mind? I am excited for you and your running goal - I look forward to seeing your progress! I am training for a Marathon and am not as motivated as I should be :) I think other people stories/goals will push me though!

Hi! Good luck for your training. I am planning to run a half-marathon next month which is a big jump for me as i do 5k's usually! Lets see how it goes, fingers crossed! :)

I just joined too! I am only training for a Half, but still need some friends on here!!!
I did my first half last october in a tropical storm on the coast of NH. There was wind, sleet, pouring rain, and about 40 degree temps. Mile 8, I broke my foot.... I kept on a runnin (mostly because it was too cold to walk!!) and I finished in 3.08 hrs. Not bad for my first half, on a broken foot. YES... I strive to do better!! :)
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR MARATHON! I'm SURE you will do great!!

Wow!! Lots of obstacles for your 1st half marathon! Good to see you will do another :) I ran a marathon in Nashville, TN in April suffered from heat exhaustion, passed out and broke my two front teeth- ended up in the ER! Finished with a 4hr11min time lol....runners :)

Hi Candace! I am training for a marathon (Marine Corps Marathon) at the end of October and I joined dailymile because my buddy moved away. This is a very fun site. You must be about done with major training and into taper. Congratulations! I am envious! What marathon are you doing?

Hi Pamela! Thanks for your comment. I was going to run in the Columbus, OH Marathon on Oct. 21st but haven't been able to really train properly because I have had sciatica for well over 2 months, so I may look for on a little later in Nov. I am still struggling some days with it but less pain now. Good luck with the Marine Corp Marathon - I look forward to your posts!

Hi Mark,
I was planning on doing the marathon in Columbus, OH on Oct. 21st but have had sciatica for well over 8 wks and am just starting to improve. So I am debating on that right now...at any rate I might do a November race to buy myself a little more time :) I agree fall is definately the nicest time to race! Thanks for the friend request!
