Favorite podcasts?

Anyone listen to podcasts while running? I would love to hear what others are listening to out there, running related or not.

I really like Stuff You Should Know and The Sporkful because they crack me up and keep me distracted. I also love the Two Gomers for the same reason. Marathon Training Academy is also very motivational, but more on the serious side.

  • The Extra Mile podcast is my favorite. Lots of regular runners contribute.

  • If I listen to something while running, I like music. So, while running I listen to Podrunner and Coverville if I'm going for a podcast.

My favorite is Phedippidations. It's free on iTunes, about running, like chatting with a running friend as you go and its inspiring. He, Steve Runner, also contributes to The Extra Mile podcast that Alan H. mentioned.

I like music on runs as well but podcasts can be a terrific break from the old playlist and help keep me slowed down on long runs!

Good luck finding some you like.

  • Thanks for all the responses! I see some familiar suggestions and some new ones I will be sure to check out.

I have one more suggestion, Runblogger. This one is definitely focused on running, and is well put together. Lots of discussion about physiology and minimalist shoes. It is actually how I found out about dailymile! So go check out the podcast and blog, http://www.runblogger.com/
