Yeah its pretty silly that they count cycling miles in the placement. Whats the point of even telling me what place I'm in if you include cyclists? I suggested in the feedback to tell me what percentile I was in. You could also break it down by age and gender and see yourself improve among your dailymile peers.

You can specify on the leaderboard by sport. (http://www.dailymile.com/training/everyone)

@stephanie: the rank doesnt change depending on the sport you pick. You have to click the "Show More" button a bunch of times to get to where your name is listed in the list. So if you were a 300th placed runner you would have to click it 30 times to see where you fell.
