I bought a pair of compression socks last year and I seem to get the most benefits from them by wearing them for a few hours after I finish a long run while recovering. I have worn them while running and did not notice much of a difference. Hope that helps some.

I wear them for all of my runs except speedwork. Well worth the money!

Compression socks, tights, shorts... I got them and love them. Both during running and after running. I wore my socks last year during the latter part of an ultra and it made a difference (relief) in my mind.

I am a pretty big believer in compression. I don't have compression socks, but I do wear compression calf sleeves after my runs and they seem to really help me out. I also have some compression shorts that I wear while running and they work very well.

I have a few pair. Never noticed them help during a run but I do like wearing them after a run.
I have also found that they completely get rid of my restless leg syndrome which is incredible.

I have a pair and I use them mainly for recovery. I think they helped a lot. I got the type that are sleeves, like socks with no feet. I would put them in my dry bag and put them on and some long pants for the few hours following a race.

Hi Johnna, I use the calf compression sleeves; and like Andrew and several others said, they seem to offer the most benefit during post-run recovery. I've spoken to a few people who say they even wear them to bed after doing a HM or similar long run.
