Need to get back outdoors and in the saddle!!!

posted 5 months ago | Report

New to Daily Mile and looking forward to logging a few rides, runs and training sessions. Ive managed to post some of my routes from earlier this year logged on Cyclemeter/Runmeter via iphone.
After going really well through July and August with a variaty of workouts (mainly The Bike) I have fell off the wagon a bit since my September Holidays. Since then most of my training has been gym based, weights, spinning bike, treadmill, rower and stairmaster.
Decided its time to stop hiding away from the elements and get back outside and clock a few mile up on the bike with some running mixed in to vary things.

Day off today so time to dig out the warm clothing and kick things off!!!!!! Hope i make it back in one piece!

  • Hi Mike ... the Holiday months are the hardest to work through with me. Way to many interruptions and bad weather to deal with.

    Keep on pedaling!

  • Hello Mike, Living at 9000 ft in NM makes training different. I do CX skiing which is great for cardo. But I do have to use the treadmill and real axiom trainer, I have went to the flatlands off the mountain for rides but 36-40 degrees at 20+ is not much more fun. I must say even if it is cold and unpleasent I do enjoy outdoors over indoors by a long shot. Enjoy

Thanks Ray, really suffering with high winds in Cumbria at the minute so i have reverted back indoors for now. Frustrating but safer, really looking forward to some warmer times and more miles.

    Thanks

Thanks Brenda, really looking forward to more outdoor stuff when our wet and windy British weather picks up. Looks like you have kept things going over the festive period. Great effort.

  • I suppose all that snow does not give you much choice!!. Like you say outdoors over indoors any day. Keep it going.

  • I *so* know the feeling!!! Motivation to get out on the bike when it's blowing a gale and/or wet is a rare thing to find. I've been struggling since the winter, so buddy up and let's get out on those bikes!

  • Hiya Meinir, hope you get back on track too. Its not always easy getting out but ive found it easier the more i do. Lets hope the Sun starts coming out a bit more and make it even more tempting to hit the great outdoors.
