Anyone try out the Polar RS800CX BIKE?

posted about 4 years ago | Report

Thinking about picking this up to use on my bikes and for runs as well. Anybody try this out and have some feedback, especially using it as a bike computer?

  • I use a Garmin Edge 705. Love the GPS navigation and so forth. But it isn't a watch like the RX800CX so it is really a different tool. I use a Polar F11 for everything else not cycling - I guess you will get the best of both worlds with the RX.

  • Stay away from Polar. Their customer service is apalling. My team store actually discontinued selling their products after too many returns and poor service at their end. I'd go with the Garmin. Polars are great products, when they work properly.

  • I ended up buying the RS800CX BIKE shortly after I posted.

I use it for both running and biking (mountain and road bikes). It's been working out satisfactorily for me so far and I really like the Polar Protrainer 5 software.

I hope it proves to be a durable system as I use it almost every day.
