  • 70 miles in North Carolina (very near Blue Ridge, but not on it).

It was raining, I was alone, stiff and beat up from a crash, on a borrowed bike.

Learned a lot that day, turned out to be one of the best rides of my life.

  • May sound silly. I'm a runner, but I'll give you my 2-cents. I biked 16-miles out/back on the Creeper Trail for my longest ride of 32-miles. It's mostly flat - Rails to Trail. It was a couple of years ago. I wasn't doing anything much. I got really lazzzzy there for awhile. I pushed it pretty hard, and when I finally finished my legs felt like they were going to fall off, lol. ( : But very true. The Creeper Trail stays packed in the Spring & Summer.

Back in July, me and a bunch of dads from our boys football club did a fundraising ride.

We went from Wembley Stadium, North London, to Titchfield near the coast in Hampshire, it was 94 miles thereabouts and there were a couple of big hills about 60 miles in as we hit the South Downs... that's it for me apart from 60 miles in training, so it's

    -94 miles

...although let me tell you after 60 miles those hills felt like mountains to me!!
