Gym Workouts on Rest Days

I am running between 4 to 5 times a week and wanted to use my recovery/rest days to go to the gym and do some body workouts just for overall fitness and strength.

Anyone suggest a workout plan (not too crazy) that I can add to my running routine that is not based around more cardio work?

I appreciate any advice that you can come up with.

  • Body weight exercises, no need for gym I would suggest 3 x week
    eg press ups, squats, abs - planks as an example
    simple but effective
