I just joined Dailymile today and was disappointed that there was no paddling category (so I also picked rowing). I paddle a sea kayak and my regular solo workout (which I try to do at least once a week) is a 10 mile paddle (which takes me roughly 2 hours, depending on the wind/waves).

I have more of a recreational kayak, but I love taking it out. I'd love to get a sea kayak for more speed, but.. as it is it only takes me 45 minutes to get from one end of the closest decent-sized lake to the other.. and no sea in sight :)
I don't think I was on DM last year when I was actively kayaking, but it sounds like rowing is the closest for now.
