  • My favorite thing is to hit up the iTunes list of Top 100 songs every couple of weeks. You can preview everything and I usually end up finding a few new things to add to my playlist. Current favs are Dog Days Are Over by Florence and the Machine, Animal by Neon Trees, Dancing on My Own by Robyn, and pretty much anything by Rhianna and Lady Gaga!

  • A friend turned me on to Marina http://www.marinaonline.com/ She has music that is so many beats per minute and at $0.50/ song, not a wallet abuser. Not great music, but effective.

  • I saw an article on womenshealth or runningmag that suggesting running to instrumental tracks so I tried it even though I didn't think I would enjoy it and it's actually really cool, it becomes like background sound.
A few that I downloaded are:
    Lord Leopard- Caribou
Welcome, Ghosts- Explosions In The Sky
    Zeplike- Slightly Stoopid

But, of course, Beyonce is always a go-to for my playlists ;)

  • My absolute favorite is 'He's a Pirate (Ship Ahoy Tribal Remix)' by Chris Joss & Klaus Badlet. I had a moment with this song running my first half-marathon and it's stuck with me ever since! I replayed it 4 or 5 times to get me through the last couple miles!

It's mostly instrumental but it totally pumps me up! You can get it on iTunes.
