Xterra Velocity ++ vs Vortex 3

Xterra is having a sale on Wetsuits. I'm trying to decide between the Velocity and the Vortex. The Vortex is a wetsuit and the Velocity is a speedsuit. Just so I have this right I can wear the Velocity when wetsuits are illegal? Does the Velocity provide any warm? I usually only do Triathlons in the summer here in MN, but would like to do some open water swims in late spring early summer. Any help of suggestions welcome.

    You can wear the Velocity speedsuit in a USAT event when a wetsuit is not legal; e.g. water temp is too warm
    The Velocity provides very little warmth. Though, it does provide some protection from items in the water (other than other swimmers). The Velocity will be faster than having no wetsuit at all because of it's coating - Nano-SCS - which is slicker than human skin.

    Wow nice to hear from the horses mouth. :-) My decision is still going to be tough. Nice to have a suit that I can wear all the time, but also would like have one that I could wear all the time. Thanks for your help and the sale I saw on Athlinks!
