Hi Caleb. I do triathlons (both long and short) and also run marathons. I really enjoy triathlons, but love to run the most. I usually do both a fall and spring marathon, and the last several years, have done Ironman Wisconsin in September. I use the spring marathon to gear up for triathlon season, and then do the fall marathon simply because I don't have to train much for it following Ironman Wisconsin! I train for triathlons during the months of May, June, July and August. The rest of the year I do not swim or bike...I just run. So I run 5-6 days a week most of the year, and then during tri training usually cut it down to 3 days per week. Hope this helps!

I do Olympic and 70.3 tris and ultramarathons at the same time. I'm currently training for the Napa Marathon on Mar. 1 and the Napa Vintage 70.3 on May 3. I do back-to-back long runs on weekends (18+ on Sat., long trail runs on Sun.) and do at least two double workouts during the week. You can do anything if you really want it. I'm thinking ironman and Miwok 100 or Western States 100 (if I can get in) next year. I sort of follow Kristin's plan (previous post) since tri season is not all year around like runninng. My race schedule is at www.iswimbikerun.wordpress.com.
