How much money do you want to spend? Quintana Roo makes some nice tri bikes.

I've been investigating Blue Competition Cycles for myself lately. QR are nice bikes but you can also never go wrong with a Cervelo. The new Look tri bike is pretty sweet. My other choice might be a Trek TTX.

Go to a GOOD shop and ride a few bikes.....someone telling you X bike is good is about the same as telling you "eat this you'll like it" how do they know what you'll like!?
Personally I think Cervelos are crap, poor ride quality and worse build quality.......but some people think they're good! Q.Roos are okay but a little pricey for what you get.....or should that be....for what you don't get!

Best advice is to go try them ALL, and buy the one you're most comfortable on. Fit is the most important aspect of a tri bike, for both comfort and aero reasons.

eh. they all fit the same or it's easy to adjust the seat, stem and bars to make it fit (assuming it's the right size to start with) and the performance differences are marginal unless you're a top competitor. Get the one that looks the coolest and is on sale. Carbon- you definately want carbon. Not because it's that much better than Aluminum- but it's just so much cooler to have a carbon bike.
Have fun shopping and post pictures when you get it.

What's the diff between a tri bike and a road bike?

Why don't you just get a Cannondale Slice in the same size as your current ride? Buy a basic model and spend the extras on a good wheelset.

in reply to what Belfast B. said:What's the diff between a tri bike and a road bike?
Aerodynamics. Not just of the bike itself, but more importantly, the body position that it puts you in. On the down-side, they're heavier and not as maneuverable as a road bike.
it's debatable, but supposedly the different body position is designed to leave your legs less fatigued for the run.

Best bet is a Trek tri bike. I bought a $1500 Fuji 3 yrs ago and I'm not that happy with it. I am also a short woman(5'3") Get a professional fitter to set up your new bike for YOU! I went to Chronometro Bike Shop in Madison and had my bike fitted. They did a great job! Now I feel so comfortable on my bike.
