Ill start first.
Last year was my first 2 marathons, The Hamptons Marathon finished 3:50:49 and the Atlantic City marathon I finished 3:44:35.
On 06May12 I will be running the Long Island Marathon my goal time will be a sub 3:40. I believe that is manageable as long as I dont hit a wall at mile 23 like I did at The AC marathon.
03June12 I will racing the San Diego Marathon Im not sure what to expect for that race but I will be shooting for 3:45
On 29Sep12 I will be running The Hamptons Marathon and Im shooting for a sub 3:30. Sub 3:30 might be shooting for the stars, but Im more experienced this time around, train better and Im able to train on the course because it is local.
21Oct 12 is the Atlantic City Marathon and my goal is definitely 3:30. Still a high achievement for me. But I think one day I will get there.

Erik thanks for the post. I'm preparing for a 3:30 marathon in 2012 as well.
My current PR is 4:12. I set this back in 2003 at the NYC marathon. I know I'm a lot stronger now and way more experienced. I'm going to be running the Twin Cities Marathon in Minneapolis, MN on October 7th, 2012. I'm really looking forward to it!!
Training is going well so far. Just finished the Rock n Roll Half Mary in St. Pete in 1:48:03. I've got a 15k coming up in 3 weeks and then I'm going to be doing some Tri's before I jump back in and hit it hard for marathon training in July.
Looking forward to hear how you do in your upcoming races and any morivation is welcomed!!

3. 3:35 (5 minutes faster than my 2013 Boston Qualifying time)4 weeks into my training and all is ahead of schedule. due to the fact that I ran 3 marathons between september and Janaury, i did not step back my long runs much. I kept them at 14 to 15 and will build up as the schedule goes beyond that distance. I find that the base I built for the 3 earlier marathons has made workouts like my pace run training go much better. I also started taking endruolytes tablets to addresss calf cramping issues i had with my last 5 marathons. so far i feel like my legs arent nearly as spent as previous training efforts, even though I am running harder and faster.

Hi there,
I ran my first marathon in July 2011, with a time of 3-54 which included 17 mins in medical as I fell and slid along the bitumen with my face and shoulder. Anyway, my goal is to run a 3-30 in 2012. I haven't signed up for any race yet, but it will either be in Australian or the US.
OK -
1- Gold Coast marathon - 3-54.
2 - not sure of location -
3 - goal time is 3-30 ideally. Scary!posted 3 months ago | edited 3 months ago

Hi Erik. Great post - I am training for my first marathon. I have found the training tough - I'm up to 20 miles and going to run a 26 mile training run in the next 2 weeks.
So.....
1. No Marathon PB (Half marathon PB is 1:24.27)
2. Goal race(s) April 15th - Llanelli Marathon, South Wales
3. 3:15FR Sent. Cheers, Miles
