WOMEN- Where do you wear your heart rate monitor?

asked 4 months ago | Report

Slides down if I wear it underneath my chest- even at the tightest setting. And if I put it underneath the band of my sports bra, it stays up but the clasp cuts into my skin. Any suggestions?

  • I got a smaller strap for mine and it stays in place much better. There's got to be a better way to design these things though.

  • I have the same problem. I've tried tucking it under my sports bra, and it works with some bras, but with others it ends up being too constricting, and I feel like I can't breathe. What's helped is doubling up a section of the elastic band and putting a safety pin through it to make it tighter. It *usually* stays in place around my rib cage that way (though during my run yesterday it ended up around my waist). If anyone has a good solution, I'd love to hear it.

  • So have this problem. I have to put it under the elastic of my sports bra. The problem there is that the one that came with my garmin, it was the harder plastic one, started to burn me. So I contacted them and showed proof, and then sent me one of the newer models that is mostly all strap. I can get this one to fit a lot better but still stick it under the sports bra..so it cuts into me. haha! I can't seem to win.

  • I was going to ask a question that covered what Kris responded - which is what kind of HR monitor do you have? My husband got me a Polar watch a couple of years ago and aside from the fact that the HR monitor wouldn't pick up my HR it (1) would not stay put and (2) if it did stay put the hard plastic cut into me. I have a Garmin now and the strap is mostly synthetic with very little hard plastic. It lays beneath the lower band of my sports bra and stays really well without any trouble. Maybe try a different sports bra too?
