Nike+ (nike plus) for cycling

posted over 2 years ago | Report

Has anyone heard anything about Nike + coming to cycling in some form? I have a speedometer/tripometer to track riding, but I would love integration with my iPod...Anyone heard anything?

  • I think this is a great idea, but I haven't heard anything and doubt that Nike will bother unless they get serious about cycling products. They still sponsor Lance & Livestrong, and used to make (or license) some cycling gear, but it doesn't seem like they really care about the cycling space.

  • Yeah I agree with Jason here. They really haven't made much attempt at offering anything cycling related. They released some shoes a couple years ago that looked okay, but since then I haven't seen or heard anything. Neither of the two magazines I subscribe to have shown any Nike cycling developments either.

  • Kind of disappointing, given the lance factor and his livestrong initiative. I am a fan of Nike products and would happily support something tech related for bikers.

  • Saw this recently - ANT+ to iPhone integration. Could be slick.

  • I use Run Keeper and LOVE it...it's an app for the iPhone/iPod and it works really well for running, cycling, and lots of other types of activities. There's a free version you can try out and then the full app is $10 (which is totally worth it). It keeps track of your distance, time, over all pace and minute-by-minute pace, calories, route, etc. There's also progress charts and reports that you can look at. You should check it out.

  • I loved my Nike+ (until I got a garmin). But, realize that Nike makes sneakers for a living, so it was a natural brand extension for them to create a pedometer and get you to buy Nike sneakers into which the device fits.

Last I checked... Nike doesn't make bicycles
