Any Competitive Road Cyclists here?

posted over 2 years ago | Report

Just wondering if there's any guys who race blogging here on DM. Seems to be a lot more runners and triathletes.

Feel free to add me as a friend!

  • lol....looks like I'm a rare breed here...
    I'll post anyways:
I'm a Cat 3 road cyclist from Alberta, Canada. Started off doing cross country mountain bike racing and got into road last year. I train like a mad man. My favourite events are long road races. Ultimate goal is Cat 2 in the next year.

  • Danny Kam I believe is cat 1/2. I'm sure there are a few others. I use to race in college, but have hung up my bike for a few years to pursue running. I'll be back soon.

  • Former cat 3 here, but that was 10 yrs ago. I'd like to return to racing, but we'll see how it goes. Right now I'm rebuilding after a long stretch of being a beer drinking lazy ass.

  • Racing since '86, still as a Cat.2 (limited status in US, you have to be a citizen for Cat.1) and Master 35+, was UCI RS1 elite in Canada before I moved.

  • I'm not as competitive as I used to be, but I love to race with Tioga Velo Club.

  • Hi, just joined up, unfit and just about to start training, so not competitive yet! Apart from racing shopping bikes! Having said that, competition is what I am aiming for, cat 4 to start with. Graham.

  • I caught the racing bug last fall so this year I'll be a Cat 5 40+ racer in Oregon and California. Looking forward to it all!

  • I was a Cat 3 roadie and Cat 4 trackie in the early 80s, then took a long rest. I started racing at the track again two years ago and love it. I suspect Cat 4 is as high as I'm going to get. My biggest goal this summer is to do a respectable 2K pursuit in the Masters 50+ section. I might do some road races. It's funny, I do better at longer events but love the track most of all.

  • I started riding about 5 yrs ago, after I bought my first road bike. I was turned on to a local 10 mile time trail race by a friend. I was immediately hooked. I would like to get into road races more often, as have entered a few local races in the past. ( Also got my but kicked ) My goal was usually not to come in last.

  • Just signed up last week. I'm a 40 year old Cat 3. Started racing when I was 13 and have raced at least a little bit every year since...but doing a bit more this year than I have in a while. Mostly doing 35+ Crits here in New England.
