Looking for a Cycle Trainer

posted over 1 year ago | Report

Hey cyclists and tri-athletes! I am looking to buy my first trainer. I want to keep my legs in good cycling shape over the winter, but on my own bike. I have never had a trainer, so don't know where to start. I want something pretty good quality that will last.

Thanks for any suggestions and experiences!

  • I'm looking into the Kinetic ones myself. Might have to wait until after the holidays though. Unless I decide to be selfish and get myself a killer gift. Hahaha.

  • Yup, so far I have had three people talk about the Kinetic....

  • I got a CycleOps Fluid. It works well. If you really want to improve your handling skills and pedal stroke look into some rollers.

  • I have the CycleOps Fluid Trainer. I like it a lot. It seems to be quite durable. I say "seems" because I haven't had it all that long. But as a reasonably heavy rider, it is very solid and works well for me. The cost was also an appealing aspect of the CycleOps Fluid trainer.

On a side note, I haven't used rollers so I can't give you any kind of comparison.
