Bugs and Support

Is anyone actually WORKING here?

posted almost 2 years ago | Report

I've had problems with my account syncing with twitter and now my Nike+ info. Looking in these forums it looks like people have had similar issues for MONTHS with no actually employee feedback on our issues? I really like this site, but the lack of support makes me want to go elsewhere!

  • I'm sorry, but this is a FREE site that is FREE of advertisement with a wonderful supportive community. If some gadgets don't work, so what, that's not what DailyMile is about. It's about supporting your fellow athletes.

  • What browser are you using? Try using Firefox. I have no problems with my Twitter account or Nike+.

  • wow. and what a great example of that! I realize this is a free website, but even free websites have a support system. Why offer a forum section for feedback, including "bugs and support" if you have no intention of doing so? That's where I'm going with this. Don't offer things you have no intention of supporting.

I am VERY active in my social media communities and I've found even as inactive as I have been, my workouts have inspired others to get fit. You tell me - if I can motivate others to improve the quality of THEIR lives by just improving the quality of MY OWN, why WOULDN'T these tools matter to me?

  • Thanks Jackie, I've attempted it in Firefox and 2 versions of IE. Not sure why it isn't pushing/pulling information correctly, but I'm still researching it.

  • Try Google Crome. I've heard that IE is not a good browser for dailymile and Foxfire and Crome work much better. Hope you get your problem resolved.

Are you a answering as a dailymile site rep, or as a user? If a user, your response is opinion. If a rep, your response is poor. Just because something is free, it should work well (example google).

My thoughts exactly. No one does something for nothing. It may be free now, and I love the site. But if you are going to do something, do it well.

  • Thanks Jean-Paul. I'm not trying to shoot down a great community. I can *see* how awesome it is. But community isn't enough to sustain a website long term.

I'm told that there are 37? team members that support the website beyond the founders, but am constantly seeing the same questions being asked over and over with little to no response. The motivation system here is great. It's exciting to see the changes that people have made in their lives. Just take some time to improve your forum support. Have Moderators, volunteers or otherwise, who have a primary purpose of answering those questions. Or even an FAQ section of those popular questions that EVERY NEW PERSON asks. Your community is great but doesn't encourage continued growth of new people if we can't find/get answers or are rudely responded to when we make a query.
