How to hide profile from non friends?

I don't want my profile showing up to strangers, how do I make it private?

  I've tried, when I log out completely, I can still look at my profile. I looked at other people's too, and could tell routes even, that's the part I really want to hide. I can't find any 'privacy settings' page or something to say one way or the other about it either.
