Talkative has to do with the number of comments on your workouts, and intense has to do with the effort level you indicate when you make the workout entry.
I don't know the answer to your question about lbs burned.

I am assuming that 1lb fat = 3500 calories.

You have to log a run, and then click more details. In the more details section click the circular arrow next to calories burned and it will calculate the number of calories burned for that workout and your other workouts and then pounds burned will show up. At least this did it for me.
