Is "Gear" tracking working?

I wanted to track the mileage on my shoes, but it seems that as I add the shoes to my runs it never adds mileage to my shoes. Seems like the "Gear" tracking isn't working or I just don't know how to use it.

    Greg - I just realized that each time I input a workout I have to "attach" the gear I used. Then, it tracks the mileage on my shoes.
