Anyone else training for tri-sprints?

posted almost 2 years ago | Report

I did my first one a month ago, and am doing another one this weekend. These are just homemade tri sprints that we (my brother, sister, and whichever kids are around that want to participate) map out on our own so we get 1/4 mile swim, 12 mile bike, and 3 mile run. I'd love to meet some friends here who are doing the same kind of thing so we can keep each other motivated!

  • I am in the process of training 2nd HIM but will have a Tri sprint coming up August 20th 3 weeks before my HIM.

Whether we are doing tri sprints or on up to a full we all need motivation.

they are a lot of fun

  • I'm doing my first this weekend on the 27th...it's sort of a tune up race for a bigger event I'm really training for on 1 October.

  • I have done 2 so far and an Olympic and always on the lookout for more. I really like the idea of DIY tri very cool! Maybe a neighborhood one that the HOA would help out with if yours has a pool.

  • Feel free to add me! :) I am overweight and training for tri's to get fit (and losing weight in the process is a bonus). Good luck with what you do! I am planning on doing my first sprint tri in June.

  • I am training for my first tri in May. It is Olympic distance. I have been running for three years so I thought the Oly distance best fitted my current abilities. I have never swam or biked at all, so this should be interesting....plz add me, we all need motivation!!

  • I've been running for almost 3 months but I'm quiet new to swimming and cycling. I guess I want to give it a shot.

  • I just sent a friend request! I wanted to get into tri's last year and wasn't able to. I just did my first official sprint tri a couple of weekends ago though and I loved it! I know I'll be doing more of them. I'm a runner and that's my focus so I'll still continue to train for halfs and hopefully a full in the next couple of years, but I plan to keep up cross-training and add in tri's a couple of times a year.

  • I'll be doing a tri this year, a sprint in September. Swimming, biking, running I can do. Transitions will be a new experience. I'm also still looking for friends on DM.
As far as training goes, I'll probably find a training schedule online and stick to it as best I can. swimming will be the hardest to do on a schedule, until the weather and water warm up.

  • Training for my first one in July, followed by another in August. I hope to be able to do a full one next year. It's a great way to motivate yourself to get in shape, having that looming event get nearer and nearer on the calender.
