Beginner Running

Introduction

posted 4 months ago | Report

Hi Everyone,
I have been using daily mile for about six months, but since thanksgiving (muscle pull on rear of both knees) runs have been sporadic at best, usually averaging one per month since. I am looking for some type of motivation to get back into running during the cold months. Due to my yearly "hibernation", kids and work, I'm feeling like there isn't much hope until spring breaks again. Surely my midsection is staying nice an cozy! Anyway, I hope to meet new people and turn this slump around. -Thanks

  • Request sent. Winters are tough Just start out slow until you get healed. You might want to sign up for a race sometime in the future that has always motivated me since I already spent the cash

  • Stay motivated! I know it can be hard especially when it's cold. I'm out west so not much cold here but it gets hot like a skillet and drains you just as much.
Dare I say the word that shall not be spoken? Treadmill! There I said it, it's not fun but it'll help keep you active.

  • Vera- Noooooooooo! not that word!!! J/K In all honesty, I used to only run on the tredmill, but since I have downsized to an apartment and have no space. I appreciate the idea, but I just love the crisp air in the early morning or late at night.

Its always a struggle to get back into running, the first week my lungs always feel like they are on fire.
