Welcome! I used the C25K to start running and loved it. I think the key is to ease into everything, which the plan already helps you do, but also don't be afraid to repeat a week if you need to. I think in the end I turned the 9-week plan into something like a 12-week plan because I repeated so many weeks. Good luck!

I just started doing C25K on Saturday, I'm going out again tomorrow! I've tried so many times but I'm hoping the community here will help! Feel free to add me and we can help each other!

Welcome! C25K is a great way to get started. It is hard at first but it gets easier. Just focus on one day/week at a time and before you know it running will be be enjoyable.

Good for you for getting out there and doing it. I had to start it a second time before I actually finished the program, I found that signing up for an actual race kept me motivated. It was probably around week 5 that I started running through the end of the workouts, stopping because I was done instead of because I needed to.

Hi Lorraine. I just completed C25K a few weeks ago. I'll admit that it did that me a bit longer than 9 weeks though. FR sent.

After quite a few unsuccessful starts to running over the years (my big excuse was that I wasn't built to run - too curvy, too bouncy), I used C25K last spring, and it was finally what I needed to really get into it. I signed up for a 5K race as extra motivation to stick to the program, and it worked. I fully expected to just run that race and never run again, but it was so much fun, that I've kept it up and am setting my sights on a 10K this summer!
I've sent you a friend request - I wish you luck with all this - it's intimidating to start, but you'll be amazed at what you can do! Just follow the program as close as you can, and remember there is NO shame in repeating a week here or there if you need to! Listen to your body, it knows what it can take!

Thanks everyone.
I'm taking part in the relay race (5k leg) of the Belfast Marathon on 7th May this year, so I have something to aim for! I did it last year; walking more than running. This year I want to run the full distance.
It's really encouraging to hear that a lot of people have found success with C25K, so I know I've made the right choice. W1D3 here I come .....
