Just Started to Jog

posted 4 months ago | Report

Taking it slow, walked 29 minutes and jogged 1 minute on Friday as I am re-entering getting fit and toned for health reasons, plus to be able to Cycle again. Today, nothing as we were hit with an ice storm...could go ice skating though if only I had skates!

  • Good luck! I suggest checking out the couch to 5k plan. A lot of people have had success with it.

  • There will be hurdles along the way. At times, things will hurt. You'll get 'injured'. it will take time. Perhaps a few years. But the turtle wins this race. If you keep at it, with tenacity and consistency you will be a runner like you never imagined. The joy you will find from your physical body will be like nothing you have experienced.

good luck on your journey. you CAN do this. you will have setbacks. it's all part of running.

  • Just started a couch to 5k program today. Walked/jogged for 20 mins today, in 27 degree weather. Plan is to start out with about 3 days of walk/running outside and 3 days of cross-training with a break 1 day per week. I just really hope that I can get healthy and run my 1st 5k in June.
