Anyway, I'd really recommend the Higdon Half-Marathon plan (http://www.halhigdon.com/halfmarathon/novice.htm). I did a similar program when I did my first half and it worked really well.

I agree with Dan's statement. The Hal Higdon program is great. I am training for my half with this program. If the initial mileage is too much for you, and you have more time before your half, then you could prepend the Spring Training Novice program on the front end. The fact that you have a training program telling you how much to run on which day is very important. For me, this has been absolutely critical. I would come up with loads of excuses without a program to stick to. Now I get antsy when I miss a day, or start to fall behind on the mileage.

I've got to give another shout out to Hal Higdon. That's what I used when training for my first half last fall! It worked well for me! Good luck!
