Beginner Running

I run an 8 mile pace, my eliptical time was around a 12 min pace. Am i doing something wrong??

It felt much easier then running.

  • they are two different workouts and their paces don't match up. I'd base it more on intensity - did the ellitpiical feel much easier or harder than the run?

  • So many variables. Where are you running and how far? How much resistance is on the elliptical? Which do you do more often (conditioning the muscles for a particular activity). All these things and more can change pace. Calories burned might be a closer comparison, but still not perfect.

  • sounds like it's an old elliptical that isn't calibrated correctly. so many factors can play into this like the resistance you set the machine at. The gym I used to belong to had some machines that were real dogs they never calibrated so they were way off.
