Lots of body weight circuits floating about the web but as a starting point look at the cross fit site, mens health and womens health magazine sites.
Not sure about the equity between the running and these circuits as its a very personal assessment.
You could get a cv machine that does not require mains power eg C2 rower or a bike or...
Try a circuit and see how it goes you will be working a variety of muscle groups, the cardio vascular system and burning calories to boot.
An example might be (numbers and time to suit your level)
Press ups 5, abs 10 and squats 15 = set
how many sets in 20 minutes?
    Have a look around, experiment.
    Good luck

  • It matters less 'what' you do than 'that' you do. The most important thing is consistency. Do something nearly every day as part of your life. running doesn't need to be done on a treadmill- it can be done outdoors. No sense sitting around in a dark house without electricity. Might as well go for a run/walk. Cycling (indoor or outdoor) is great for burning calories as well. it uses large muscle groups and can be done for long periods of time with minimal injury risk- so terrific for beginners (and athletes) alike.

  • Some exercises to burn just as much or more claories than running:
Skipping rope is a good exercise and burns lots of calories.
A punching bag is also good and helps release excess stress too.
Rowing is also good at burning calories.

    Other exercises:
Cycling (although you'll need to work hard or more time) to catch up with running calories
    Some goes for elliptical
