Training For A Cause

posted almost 2 years ago | Report

Does anyone here train for a cause? I recently decided to dedicate my 2010 training to raising money for Soles 4 Souls. For every 100 miles that I log here on dailymile, I will donate 10 dollars to Soles 4 Souls. I am quickly approaching my first 100 miles, and I can't wait to make my first donation. It may not be much, but it is enough to make a small difference and it helps keep me motivated on those days that I don't feel like training. I encourage everyone to give it a shot. Please check my blog for updates and links to my Soles 4 Souls fundraising page. The link is http://runridelive.blogspot.com. Also, if anyone here does something similar please let me know. I'm interested in hearing about your journey and motivations.

  • That's terrific that you train for a cause! We are out there logging all these miles, it might as well be for something. Keep up the good work! I work with Team Challenge as a coach -- it's a half marathon training program that raises funds to find a cure for Crohn's and Colitis. The participants raise funds during their 16 week training program and have a great time getting to know their fellow participants throughout the season. The info is here: http://www.ccteamchallenge.org/site6.aspx

  • I just completed my first 100 miles, and I am about to make my first $10 donation. I am so excited, and I would love for others to join me or find their own way to make their training count for more than just mileage. As I said in my inital post, please check out my blog at http://runridelive.blogspot.com to learn more or visit my Soles 4 Souls fundraising page directly via this link http://www.soles4soulsfundraising.org/timothy_wakefield. I would love to hear from others that train or race for a cause. Please post your stories, etc....
