I've looked into the program since I was able to find some pirated documents on the Internet. I also know a couple people that have done it and have had impressive results. I decided it wasn't for me because the program was too highly focussed on strict caloric restriction and choice of foods, as well as the workouts being too intense for my fitness level at the time.
You can problem achieve the same results with less rigid food intake, the same exercises but spread over another month.

Thanks Lenny. I sort of feel the same way. I did a bunch of research on the program and it seems like a lot of people say the same thing you did. Thanks for the input!

You're welcome Kim. I'm of the philosophy that fitness and exercise should neither be a chore or insanely rigorous so I won't be considering that program even now. Good luck on your search though. =)

I did it and still do use it for the occasional workout despite becoming a trainer myself and knowing how to design my own.
When I did P90x, I didn't bother with the diet stuff. Anyway, I think it's a great program, but I guess not if you're into really high intensity. One of the best parts of it though is the yoga routine. I've yet to find one as complete and challenging, for fitness anyway.
But it doesn't have to be extreme. There are lower intensity options in every workout, say if you have injuries or are a beginner and so on. It's only as extreme as you want it to be.

I have the DVDs. Very extreme is you follow it by the letter.
However, as a trainer, it does gives me good ideas of extra exercises, and if you adapt them slightly they can be used for everyone and anyone.
If you're ready to workout every day to the max and have no injury at all, the this can be for you.
Yes, the diet part is not what I was looking for, so just follow a balanced diet, more protein (as you rip your muscles) and you'll get great results.
But you need to be up for it.posted about 2 years ago

I have their BeachBody series and love it. With training for a marathon I haven't had time for a gym work out lately but would love to get back into it to keep my muscle tone in my upper body.
anyway, their BeachBody series is not as intense but still effective.

I don't bother with the diet aspect of P90X because I eat a really balanced diet and I have no need to lose weight. I LOVE the program DVD's and I use them as a way to cross train and increase my strength in hopes of avoiding running injuries. The workouts are really flexible and you can make them as hard or as easy as you need. Tony does a great job showing modifications and encouraging breaks and using lighter weights as needed. These are the first DVD workouts that I actually enjoy and look forward to. I just did my first pull up yesterday after two weeks of not being able to do a single one, I was ecstatic! I also don't do them every single day as my running comes first and if I have a hard run I skip the workout.

I've completed the program twice. Both times I did it during the winter months in order to stay fit for my summer runs. The program works, but I too didn't follow their diet plan. I created my own by eating foods that are high in protein. I recommend doing the program with some friends who can help you stay motivated.
Ab Ripper X is one of the best ab workout programs.

Worth it for Yoga X and Ab Ripper X alone.
