I just finished the 2009 Honolulu Marathon and I am itching to get back into another race. I want to try and do this a faster pace than my marathon pace. I paced a 12 min mile. I am hoping to get up to a 10 min mile for the full 8 miles.

Yeah, It took about 3 miles into the race last year to get into my pace. I had to keep weaving around people....I would like to get under an hour too but I would have to make sure I was as close to the start line.

I haven't decided if I will run GAR in 2010. The crowds in the back of the pack make this more of a fun run than a running event. The last 3 miles are usually a hot run, as the sun comes out just as I'm hitting the long uphill sections.

If I can run this distance in less than one hour, I will give the GAR another try... but I might not get that fast until 2011. I'll have to train hard to hit a 7:20 pace for that distance.
