Run this for a Fun Good Time!
Naturally this is a great course! The energy is high and the characters are there to cheer you on. This was my second Disneyland 5K and I was just as impressed with the organization...on the front end. The only things I found disappointing were the amount of people who started in the inappropriate time areas--thus my partner and I were forced to weave around many people who were walking ahead of us from the word "go" when we were starting just after the 9-10 minute mile group, and also the setup of the finish area. It was extremely congested and chaotic--or maybe I was just spoiled by the run I did in 2007 that ended in a wide-open parking lot as opposed to inside Disney's California Adventure.
At any rate, I would absolutely recommend this race to anyone--Disney enthusiast or otherwise. Run this one for fun and not necessarily for time!

Disney Does It Right!
This race is well staffed from beginning to end. It is a bummer that after mile 4, you're out of the parks, but all the Scouts and cheerleaders and dance troupes along the route keep things exciting. Running through Angels Stadium is amazing. Medals are heavy and spectacular. Unfortunately, the shirts run big, but that's not a big complaint!

Disneyland Half
The 5th annual Disneyland Half was a ton of fun. I ran really well, placed in my age group, and just had a blast the whole time. Running through Angel's stadium was easily my favorite part of the run. My only complaint is that most of the last mile was bare. Very little besides running through the back lots and industrial looking areas until the finish line. Overall though, this was a phenomenal experience.

Checking weather...

Anyone interested in forming a group to do longer runs in the LA area on weekends? I'm currently running 4:1 intervals, aiming for a 12:30-13:00 minute per mile pace. This weekend I'm doing 7 miles on the Hermosa Valley Greenbelt...
