Creede Mountain Runs
This race is in a small mountain town in southern Colorado. Runners can choose between 2, 12, and 22 mile runs. I ran the 22 mile run. While shorter than a marathon, it was much more difficult in my opinion. The race begins at a little under 9,000ft and finally tops out at 12,500ft. The aid stations were adequate and staffed by friendly, encouraging volunteers. I may try it again next year if I can talk my legs into it.
