Ohio Canal Corridor will be hosting the 21th annual Towpath Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 8:00 am in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. This event showcases some of the most beautiful segments of the historic Towpath Trail located between Akron ...and Cleveland. The Towpath Marathon is one of few marathons that take place in a national park, and many consider it a unique specialty race due to the setting and time of year in which it is run. read more

   I think it's time to update the "goal" on my profile page. Since I already ran a half-marathon this year, I've decided to set my sights on running a 50K trail race before the end of 2012. But I still need to learn to play a flat-back four formation correctly, darn it!

   Oh, man. 75 plus degrees at game time, and no cloud cover in sight. Tough game against a good team - first loss of the season. Oddly enough, we all played better in the last two quarters, with more shots on goal as the game wore on.

   12 trail miles! Took some time off during the week to rest, and noticed *small* improvements today. Was able to run longer on more flat sections of the trail and to push a little harder. Still not walking hills fast enough. But I'm getting there. :)

   Phew. Long trail runs still are kicking my butt. On the plus side, it was a perfect day to run - not too hot, not too humid, and the scenery was gorgeous. Props to Lizz, Jamie, and Bill for sticking with a slower runner!
