Ft. Steilacoom Park, located just south of Tacoma, Washington is an urban park in the Pacific Northwest with hundreds of trails crisscrossing through open fields, lakes, forests and grasslands. The courses are fast with not a lot of climb, and feature a great variety of trails..., terrain and vegetation. Last October's Trail Run was a huge success with over 300 happy runners, and lots of great, positive comments on the great trails and variety of terrain. Pictures from last year's run can be found here. We offer 5K, 10K, Half-Marathon (13.1 Mile) and 50K options . There will be plenty of aid stations and the courses are well marked with signs at intersections. The courses start and finish at the main Ft. Steilacoom Shelter. For you history buffs out there, Ft. Steilacoom was constructed in 1849 and played a significant role in the settling of Washington Territory. The Fort is still there today and open for tours, and here's some information if you'd like to check it out. read more
