Description:

The Light at the End of the Tunnel Marathon in mid-July is a point-to-point downhill run on a scenic rail-trail which descends 2050 feet in 26.2 miles from Snoqualmie Pass to North Bend east of Seattle, Washington. The certified (certification number WA 08031 MW) course is a B...oston qualifier and has the best profile in the country for a fast time due to the combination of consistent downhill gradient and low starting elevation. The first three miles are flat, cold, foggy and damp inside an unlit tunnel so flashlights are strongly recommended. Once out of the Tunnel the views are great, especially from the trestle bridges.    I changed into my Vibrams and ran a hilly trail-mile. It was lots of fun, even though I am disappointed that they cleared all the brush and trees away at the Field House.It was such a great little trail; system and now it's just a waste-land (feels a little like running in a construction zone).

   Today is perfect for running. I felt light for the first couple of miles, then I stopped focusing and just enjoyed being out there (coincidentally that is also when I slowed down).
   Contemplating running a marathon or 50k next weekend, but I am not sure, yet.
