This spectacular public space has undergone a total transformation in recent years and with the building work now complete, the Pier Head offers an unsurpassed location for the Half Marathon. Starting on Canada Boulevard the race would see runners pass along the main waterf...ront roads as far as Liver Street where it would pick up the existing course. The route would then follow a similar path up Upper Parliament Street along to Sefton Park where it would then move through the underpass to Otterspool Park. At the end of this stretch runners will emerge on the river front to begin the flat, straight return to the city centre. This really is an impressive course. Just ask anyone who has taken part in the last three years and for 2012 we’re making it even better. The course map attached is only indicative of the proposed new route and is not accurate to 13.1 miles. As the event will be staged under UKA Ruling in 2012 the route will be formally CONFIRMED AND MEASURED IN DUE COURSE. read more
