Description:

The marathon and half marathon course will once again share the same roads thru 11.5 miles. This allows participants of both races to share the sights and sounds of the beautiful Lake Michigan coastline. Both courses will take runners through downtown Kenosha and past area par...ks and beaches before the marathoners split off and travel into the Village of Pleasant Prairie. This unique, out-and-back style course is very flat, with only a few, gradual, rolling hills in the first ten miles.   Wisconsin Marathon 1/2

  This is such an awesome race. It has so much personality ("it's the cheesiest!" is their tagline) and is small and manageable. The course is beautiful, running you next to Lake Michigan for a good portion of the race and also through Kenosha, which is quaint and adorable. There's a small but enthusiastic number of spectators out along most of the course, with more folks in the downtown area. The weather is unpredictable, and changes drastically depending on if you're on the lake or have wind protection from buildings, so for me, wearing extras like gloves or arm warmers that you can switch on and off as needed is helpful. I love this and have traveled 800+ miles to run it--and get a 1/2 mary PR--twice now!
