    Miles for Matheson 5K

    OK for a great cause... Matheson is about 7 months old and has leukemia. All proceeds from the race and donations from participants and sponsors went toward his medical bills. Can't argue with that, folks.

    The race was not very crowded for competitive racers and the 5 K field was relatively small. Most of the turnout was for the 5K walk/3K fun run. The course was in Tanglewood park outside of Winston-Salem, NC, and was absolutely beautiful. However, it was extremely hilly, with an elevation change of about 600 feet throughout the 5k course. There were 4 major hills. It was in the 70's F today, and sunny. Overall, a nice event, and everyone left happy!
