Royal Victoria Half Marathon 2009
What a fabulous race!! Wonder organizers and volunteers!! The course was just beautiful, no big hills. Running through harbour area, around a park, along the strait twice and through some neighborhoods where people were out cheering everyone on, passing out food, and even beer!! Lots of encouraging signs at the end. Of course there was perfect weather. And the best post food of any race!!! Cool metals and gender specific shirts (which is great for us gals!) Definitely will be back there next year!!!

Is anyone else doing the 8k (5mile)? This is my first run event EVER and I'm not even sure I can run the full distance but... I'm in!
over 2 years agoThis is my first time at this event and my second 1/2 marathon ever (I've never done a full marathon). I'm looking forward to it. I believe I'll be able to improve upon my time at this distance.
over 2 years agoI got a notice today on FB that the half marathon is filling up. There are 4000 entries and they are capping at 5000. Just putting it out there for anyone considering doing the race and were waiting to register
over 2 years agoFor anyone looking for a cheap hotel, I just booked a room at the Royal Scot Hotel and Suites which is apparently right across the street from the starting line!
Not one of the partner hotels, but was only $95 CAD which is less than most of those listed on the RVM website.
