Adam Recke, a 4th grade student at Farmersville Elementary School in Bethlehem Township, was diagnosed with Type C Niemann-Pick Disease (Childhood Alzheimer’s) by Dr. Marc Patterson of Columbia University on October 17, 2005. Niemann-Pick Disease is progressive, degenerative a...nd always – until we find a cure – fatal. We are conducting this race to help raise funds to find a cure, so no other parent has to watch their child suffer this fate. The proceeds from this fundraiser go toward research to find a cure for Niemann-Pick Disease. Funds raised will benefit National Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation and Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation. read more
